With the start of the new 2024-2025 school year, we are pleased to introduce a Bulgarian folk singing class led by professional conductor and music educator Mrs. Velina Damyanova. The program Mrs. Damyanova will be teaching includes the following key elements:

  1. Singing folk songs from different folklore regions of Bulgaria.
  2. Familiarization with the distinct styles characteristic of these regions.
  3. Listening to and learning about the work of prominent folk singers as well as popular vocal groups and choirs.
  4. Special attention will be given to the male voices from the Rhodopes, Strandzha, Thrace, Shopluk, and the two-part male singing from Southwestern Bulgaria, among others, which add a unique color to Bulgaria’s vocal folklore!
  5. The repertoire for children over 10 years old will be tailored to their age, abilities, and level of engagement, as well as their desires and ambitions!

Those interested in not only gaining experience in folk singing but also deepening their knowledge of Bulgarian vocal folklore can register in person.
